On
July 10 of 2003, 21 riders plunged to their death in
a KMB bus. About Oct 18, another bus accident resulted
in 30+ riders injured.
One year after the death plunge, 2 reports have been
produced and the mandatory wearing of seat belts for
minibus riders will be imposed by the government. For
us bus riders, we have not noticed any difference.
(We
do not agree with the New World Bus proposal that installing
surveillance camera inside bus compartment would solve
the death plunge problem!)
More accidents involving
public buses have been taking place on roads of Hong
Kong (see left).
Hong Kong Government, are the buses and roads safe
to travel?
